Frequently Asked Questions
What is SEO?
SEO stands for search engine optimization. It simply comes down to three major components that are, On-Page Optimization, Social Media Awareness and Off-Page Factors. These all help your website become more visible in organic search results for the people who are looking for your brand, product, or service via search engines like Google.
Is there a difference in organic and paid results?
Organic results are the results that appear in search engines below the “Ads” and/ or maps results. Paid search results appear at the top or side of a page and are usually labeled with “Ad” or “Advertisement”. These are the links that advertisers pay to appear on different search engines for a certain keyword.

This is a hard question that goes hand and hand with many business owners because you are putting a big part of your business in a companies hands. Are there any “guarantees” with SEO, or what if a company “guarantees” first page rankings?
In one simple phrase… HELL NO. Sorry for the the bold statement, but any company or freelancer that “Guarantees” any type of first page rankings or results is NOT Legitimate and is most likely doing things that are bad for SEO (Black Hat Techniques). These will defiantly get you penalized and/or even worse make a bad name for your businesses branding. The best ways to tell how someone will take care of your rankings is by things such as previous results, testimonials, there own rankings and contacting them. These aspects are the reasons why we put them out there and show you straight up front what all is going on with our company. We cannot stress this enough because we see so many ill-acknowledged business owners do this and things like going with the cheapest SEO they can find. With all of that being said, we completely understand and know it is not the business owners fault at all because of course you want more customers which is a good thing, but this is why we want to make sure you to inform you on this.
How long does it take to see results from SEO?
There are a few different factors that will determine how quickly (or slowly) results will come. It mostly depends on your optimization, site authority, traffic, social awareness and the competition of your keywords. New or less authoritative sites may take quite a bit longer (Between three and nine months) then sites that are already known.
Should I hire someone to do my SEO?
Due to many business owners being busy with actually running the business, it may be a good idea to hire someone. With that being said it’s still up to you on whom you choose or if you want to grow or not. Be aware that all SEO’s are not the same and some practices can actually get your site penalized then never able to be ranked. Here at Vibrant Rankings we fully understand this and therefore would rather not have a bad rep, so we choose to practice good methods called “White Hat SEO”.
What is the sitemap.xml?
This is a file or map index of all the pages on your site. It’s a quick and easy reference for search engines to see the content that you want indexed.
What is “robots.txt”?
This is a page that gives search engines information about the pages on your website you want indexed/ to show up in the results.
What is “NAP” and does it help SEO?
NAP stands for Name, Address, Phone Number. NAP is a large factor when trying to rank a businesses site for local terms such as “Denver Colorado Chiropractor” or “Aircraft Parts In Kansas City Missouri”. This is because search engines will take the data into account when determining which companies to show for geo-targeted searches.
Which search engine has the most users?
Today Google is the biggest dog in the search engine usage world. They currently are in the standing for around 70% of all searches that are made. Search Engines like Bing and Yahoo are the next widely used, and they make up between 15-20% of all searches. The rest goes to other smaller ones around the internet. Always remember the saying “Just Google It”.
Should my domain have my keywords in it?
Due to a domain name (URL) being one of the bigger ranking factors this can be both a bad thing and a good thing. It can be good because you can rank much easier for a certain keyword, but at that same time you can be over optimized for a certain term. When this happens search engines will actually penalize you for it which then will not allow you to rank. The best practice is to not try to make your domain name for SEO purposes, so for example don’t go buying “inboundmarketingseoemailautomation.com”. Get what I mean?
Why do you need alt text on your images?
Due to search engines not being able to see images like us, they have to have text to read. The alt text helps them figure out what the images are all about. Also this helps people know what the image is about if it for some reason has an error and does not show up on the site for some reason.
